The Dashdance mares are all specifically chosen for their easy going temperaments and correct conformation, as these are the two most important aspects that we feel have to be right in all the foals we breed. Foals sired by CA Wreckless Rascal out of APHA, Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred mares will all be registered with the American Paint Horse Association, and part-breds will be registered with the Coloured Horse And Pony Society (UK).

We have had all of our breeding horses DNA tested by Avian Biotech for Agouti, Extension and Tobiano (where appropriate) to be able to more accurately predict the colours of offspring. It's rare that colour can be guaranteed, but making an educated guess is fun! For more information about horse colour genetics, there's an informative website here.

HH Badlands BrandyHH Badlands Brandy 2004 15.1hh Bay (AaEe) Heterozygous Tobiano American Paint

Brandy is a U.S. bred fully registered American Paint Horse, imported in February 2007. Brandy is easily the most laid back horse here, loves her cuddles, and her offspring should be brilliant all rounders, as she has world class stallions such as Hank-A-Chief, one of the APHA's all time leading sires, Jet Deck and Skipper W in her pedigree.
She has been backed and is for sale - available upon weaning in the new year. POA.

Brandy foaled Dashd Mississippi on 8th June 2008, a gorgeous chestnut tobiano filly. Her first foal was Dashd Cosmopolitan, born 27th May 2007.

Peggy SuePeggy Sue 1999 15hh Bay (AAEE) Thoroughbred

Peggy is one of those wonderful horses who ask for little and give so much. She’s a nicely bred thoroughbred – sire Nomination, damsire Danehill but she’s got an incredibly calm temperament. She's a fabulous mother, not a bad bone in her body – the sort you’d let your kids lead about and brush. She gives her foals a good upbringing and passes on her fantastic temperament as well as her good looks.

Peggy foaled Dashd Desperado, a bay tobiano American Paint Horse colt, on 29 April 2008, and is foal to Josh for 2009.

Mavoras Dawn SongMavoras Dawn Song 1994 15.3hh Bay (Ee AA) Thoroughbred

Dawn is kindly on loan to us from the Earnshaw family for 2008/09. She had a great ridden career as an all-rounder before retiring to stud and foaled a fabulous Mill Law colt in 2007. She's registered with Wetherby's so her foal by Josh will be a full American Paint.

Dawn has a fantastic temperament and correct conformation, as a National Hunt bred Thoroughbred - we think that her substance and power will combine very well with Josh's versatility to produce a performance prospect for the future. She is in foal to Josh for 2009, her foals have a 25% chance of being chestnut tobiano, 75% chance of bay tobiano.

Rondo's YoYo Skip (Aa EE Crcr)
Sire Rondo Ruben Dam Indies Hi Flash

Orlaith is a 2006 buckskin purebred Quarter Horse bred by West Country Quarter Horses, who we anticipate will join our mare herd in 2009 - her foals by CA Wreckless Rascal will be fully registered as American Paint Horses. Each of their foals will have a 37.5% chance of being buckskin tobiano, 35.7% bay tobiano, 12.5% black tobiano and 12.5% smoky black tobiano.

She has wonderful conformation, very easy ground covering movement and will hopefully make 15.2hh, the ideal size to be a go anywhere do anything horse - western or english!
